My Story

Howdy y'all!  My name is Vicky, I do life with my amazing husband, my 2 cute kids and my 2 crazy dogs!  I am the youngest of 8 siblings, I was born in Coahuila, Mexico, shortly after my family immigrated to the U.S. and I called Texas home for the first 25 years of my life.  Growing up in a large, fun, loud Mexican family we never missed an opportunity to throw a party with food being at the center of it all! We grilled delicious meat, made tamales, frijoles rancheros, mole, tacos and many other traditional Mexican dishes!  

It was not until I was married and suddenly living in the PNW that I longed for that family time around the table, eating our traditional meals that I decided to take on cooking.  As my family and friendship circle grew I became obsessed with recreating the delicious meals that I grew up on.  Through food I wanted to share a little bit of Mexico with those around me!

 Before the pandemic hit I occupied my time with volunteering, teaching Spanish, throwing parties and feeding the masses!  Connecting with people and cooking for my family and friends is my passion and love language.  There is nothing that brings me greater joy than seeing people's faces when they taste authentic, homemade Mexican meals made with quality ingredients and lots of love!  In August of 2020 I hit a new pandemic low when we were forced to stay indoors because of the smoke from the forest fires, I decided to put out a fb post to my local friends, it read like this:

Hi all, especially my Sammamish peeps! This smoke/covid prison has me super bummed and feeling bleh.  I was thinking... if life hands me limes I can make tacos, right?!  You all know how much I love to cook, host and bring people together.  Since that’s pretty much impossible these days I am doing a trial run for a small food prep/catering side gig!

This Friday I will be making some taco kits, to feed a family of 4.  Send me a quick message to place an order and details for pick up. 

It was an instant hit, and the rest is history!  I now officially cook for everyone that wants my food, bringing rice, beans and happiness to their tables all over Sammamish and Redmond.  I am so very thankful for all the love and support from my friends and family, my little dream has taken off!  I am now very official, cooking from a commercial kitchen and delivering all over the eastside!
